Welcome to the website of ....

Mathew Hooks, "Bones" the Black cowboy.

Actor Michael H. Smith takes you back to the way it really was in the Old West during the cowboy era.

In the character of Mathew "Bones" Hooks, this storyteller brings to life the day by day experiences of a real American cowboy.  Listen as he describes in detail the sounds, the smells, the aura of what it was really like on a cattle drive.  Through his vividly accurate descriptions, you'll experience the gut- wrenching feelings of being in the saddle of a bucking wild mustang, who has never had a man on his back before.

Learn the facts about round-ups and branding times, rodeos and chuck wagons.  There is much to be experienced here for children as well as adults.
Before there was the movie cowboy, and the television cowboy, there was the Black Cowboy.
